Almasol® Pure Mineral Gear Lubricant (401) is a balanced formulation of base oil, rust and oxidation inhibitors, wear-reducing agents, and other additives that provides the highest level of protection possible without the inclusion of an extreme pressure additive. When transmission and gearbox manufacturers specify a “pure” or “straight” mineral oil gear oil, it should not contain a chemically active EP agent; other additives, however, are still acceptable for inclusion. In addition to other highly desirable additives, the Almasol 401 formulation contains Almasol, LE’s exclusive wear-reducing additive that protects against premature wear and shields metal against corrosive attack.
